I have always felt that having clutter and a disorganized home was genetic. Unfortunately, I inherited the gene along with a sibling. My other two siblings are quite neat and orderly. In fact, one of these siblings tried to schedule an intervention because of my “mess”!This book has given me hope. It was enjoyable to read and I had many laugh out loud moments. Maybe after all these years I will finally be able to keep the blinds up and be comfortable opening the door when someone stops by. Thank you!
This program actually worked for me (hopelessly organizationally-challenged) but took seven weeks instead of 7 days. Now that the plan is in place, my life runs more smoothly---I can even find all those important school papers they sent home this September! A miracle! This is the first plan that I have stuck with and has helped me. I even got the book on Kindle so I wouldn't lose it (like other books I misplaced years ago and recently found). The plan is based on putting housework and other details of your life on 3x5 cards, all located in a box. A "Housekeeping Command Center" as the Young sisters call it. It seems simple but is able to organize even the smallest details of your life (i.e., which box in the attic contains your son's quilt from Grammy, etc.). There are supplies you need to buy when starting this plan (under $25) but I started with a shoebox and a package of white 3x5 cards. Dividers can be made from cardboard scraps. It was time-consuming making out the cards for everyday activities but, in the end, it is well worth it. Good luck with your "organization quest" and I hope this helps! ;-)
